What is SculpSure?
Our Los Angeles SculpSure treatment is a non-invasive lipolysis using laser technology. In other words, it can be used to remove excess or unwanted fats from various parts of your body including your inner and outer thighs, abdomen and back. Recently, advancements have been made that has made the non-invasive technique available for treatment of fats in areas under the chin.
SculpSure is cleared and approved by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), so it’s as safe as any other kind of commonly used treatment for removing fats.
In fact, it is the first non-invasive lipolysis laser treatment in the world to be cleared by the FDA. At Torkian Facial Plastic Surgery, we take extra measurements to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable during your SculpSure treatment.
The biggest advantage of SculpSure is that it does not require any downtime since it is not surgical. Therefore, patients do not have to waste any of their precious time recovering from their fat removal treatment.
Do a favor to yourself and see Dr. Torkian. Unlike other doctors, he takes his time to listen to all your complaints and understands all your problems. Besides being an specialist and highly educated doctor, he is a great person. A million thanks to Dr. Torkian who changed my life and my health.
What is the Procedure Like?
As mentioned before, SculpSure is non-invasive, meaning that it does not require any surgery. It uses laser technology to accurately target fat cells under the skin in various parts of your body, and damages these cells, which are then flushed out of your system through a natural process.
First, Dr. Torkian will ensure that you are seated in a reclined and comfortable position, and mark the areas in your body to be treated. A belt-like device will be wrapped around you, and the SculpSure applicator will emit a 1060-nanometer diode laser. This laser can go up to a temperature as high as 107.6 degree Fahrenheit to 116.6 degree Fahrenheit, which is hot enough to damage the fat cells under your skin. However, the surrounding skin, nerves and tissues remain unharmed and are not affected. This accurate precision is what makes SculpSure so ideal and safe.
The device will emit a heating and cooling effect alternatively, making sure that the high temperature does not get in contact with your skin for too long. The entire treatment for one SculpSure session takes around 25 minutes. After your treatment, for a period of 12 weeks, your body will naturally flush the damaged fat cells out of your system through a process carried out by the lymphatic system.
Some patients may require more than a single treatment in order to reach their desired look, and these additional treatments can be conducted after six to twelve weeks after your first treatment.
Am I a Suitable Candidate for SculpSure?
If you have any excess or unwanted fat in your back, abdomen, inner and outer thighs or the areas under your chin, you are a suitable candidate for SculpSure. Also, this procedure is most ideal for patients with a BMI (body mass index) that is 30 or less.
It is important to have realistic expectations from the procedure – one of the most important being that SculpSure is not a procedure for losing weight. Moreover, you should not have any serious medical conditions.
